The Coastal Fire burns in Laguna Hills Wednesday May 11th in Orange County, CA. The fire burned an estimated 20 homes and was approximately 150 acres. The blaze burned in dense brush pushed by an onshore breeze. The destruction in the absence of extreme fire weather conditions was highly unusual.

Fire crews worked into the night to protect homes next to ones on fire as residents were evacuated.
